Our Story
Sala begun on the Bowery in New York City in 1999 with the goal of offering a true authentic Spanish culinary experience. In 2004 we brought our concept to 19th Street with Sala One Nine. Founder and Owner Michael Jannetta had studied abroad at the age of 20 in Segovia, Spain and fell in love with the focal point of food, drink, tapas bars and restaurants in daily Spanish life.
Welcome to Sala One Nine, as has been our mission since we opened Sala on the Bowery in 1999, we intend to bring an authentic Spanish experience to you. When we say authentic, we are hoping to provide you with a casual, friendly experience that pays homage to the history of true Spanish cuisine.
We are proud to compliment our menu with our old world house baked rustic bread, prepared from a no yeast starter or "masa madre" perfected on numerous culinary visits to Castilla y Leon. In addition, we offer a diverse 100% Spanish wine list to balance out what we hope will be a truly memorable experience

Our dining room can accommodate all types of parties: weddings, showers, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, cocktails or diner parties with friends.
Our packages are design to offer a variety of options for your guests. In addition we are happy to customize and personalize a menu that would work best for you.
When you are ready to book your event, we will send you a reservation contract to reserve the date.
